Description: Counseling for Problems of Self-Control teaches the student how to help those suffering with issues of self-control and how to overcome those challenges. The course includes a textbook and workbook. Counseling for Problems of Self-Control helps the Christian Counselor effectively aid people in finding freedom.

The primary goal of this course is to show how the counselor can help people identify and resolve the root problems which are causing one’s inability to exercise self-control.

Note: This course leads to Advanced Certification in Substance Abuse & Addiction Therapy if the student completes this course along with the following courses:

  • Counseling for Substance Abuse & Addiction
  • Counseling Adult Children of Alcoholics
  • Counseling Those with Eating Disorders

Note: This course leads to Advanced Certification in Sexual Therapy if the student completes this course along with the following courses:

  • Counseling for Sexual Disorders
  • Counseling & Homosexuality
  • Counseling for Unplanned Pregnancy & Infertility

Note: This course leads to Advanced Certification in Domestic Violence & Intervention Therapy if the student completes this course along with the following courses and holds at minimum a Master of Arts degree:

  • Temperament Case Studies
  • Counseling for Substance Abuse & Addiction
  • Counseling Families
  • Counseling for Self-Esteem

The course materials will be shipped to the student’s address on file or you can request digital files.

Please note: The students completing advance courses must receive a grade of 80% or better for course credit to be applied toward an academic degree. Any grade transferred for an advanced course receiving a grade less than 80% will not qualify to be applied to the N.C.C.A. degree transfer program.
